Antu Danda

Antu Danda, situated in the Eastern part of Nepal is one of the place of high tourism potentiality but un-trodden yet by tourists. Encircled by enchanting views, green forests and tea plantation, Antu Danda is the best place in Nepal to view sunrise and sunset. Best weather at all time coupled with hospitable people have given an opportunity to Antu Danda to become one best tourist destinations in the future. Infrastructures are still underway and facilities are limited but the Natural beauty of Antu Danda and its surroundings is just great.

Antu Danda is about 35 Km southeast from the district headquarters Ilam, and about 12 Km southeast from Fikkal. On the border area of Shree Antu lies Darjeeling, the hill district of India, Samalbung VDC, and Mechi River in the east, the most magnificent tea estate Kanyam in the southwest, Fikkal in the northwest and Pashupatinagar in the north. The best viewpoint is at an elevation of 1677 meters in ward-number 1 of neighboring Samalbung VDC. The Antu Danda viewpoint is famous for viewing sunrise, sunset and the beautiful views of Himalayas such as Kanchenjungha (8586 meters) and Kumbhakarna (7710 meters).
