Nagdaha

Naga(Serpent) is worshipped among various ethnic groups. The Naga worship is not confined to any one single ethnic group. The practice exists among many ethnic groups, and as such numerous myths, legends and stories about the Nagas are found in Nepal. May be it is one of the reasons that the valley people regarded the Naga as one of the holiest creature and as a sign of respect, gave it a place in their culture and religion. And over times, the relationship between the humans and the mythical serpentine figures further deepened.
During Nagpanchami, thousands of visitors visit Nagdaha to honor Nag and during Rishipanchami Hindu women also visit Nagdaha. There are two temples located near the pond in honor of the Gods, Nag and SaptaRishi. Besides Nagpanchami and Rishipanchami other religious activities such as “Janai Purnima” “Chhath”, “Dewali”, “Teej” and “Pinda Selaune” etc. are also carried out at Nagdaha.
