Bouddhanath Stupa


Boudhanath  is one of the holiest Buddhists sites in Kathmandu, Nepal. It is known as Khāsti by Neawars Jyarung Khasyor BY TAMANG as Bauddha or Bodh-nāth by modern speakers of Nepali. Located about 11 km (7 miles) from the center and northeastern outskirts of Kathmandu, the stupa's massive mandala makes it one of the largest spherical stupas in Nepal.
The Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath dominates the skyline. The ancient Stupa is one of the largest in the world. The influx of large populations of refugees from Tibet has seen the construction of over 50 Tibetan Gompas (Monasteries) around Boudhanath. As of 1979, Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Along with Swayambhunath, it is one of the most popular tourist sites in the Kathmandu area.

Antu Danda

Antu Danda, situated in the Eastern part of Nepal is one of the place of high tourism potentiality but un-trodden yet by tourists. Encircled by enchanting views, green forests and tea plantation, Antu Danda is the best place in Nepal to view sunrise and sunset. Best weather at all time coupled with hospitable people have given an opportunity to Antu Danda to become one best tourist destinations in the future. Infrastructures are still underway and facilities are limited but the Natural beauty of Antu Danda and its surroundings is just great.

Antu Danda is about 35 Km southeast from the district headquarters Ilam, and about 12 Km southeast from Fikkal. On the border area of Shree Antu lies Darjeeling, the hill district of India, Samalbung VDC, and Mechi River in the east, the most magnificent tea estate Kanyam in the southwest, Fikkal in the northwest and Pashupatinagar in the north. The best viewpoint is at an elevation of 1677 meters in ward-number 1 of neighboring Samalbung VDC. The Antu Danda viewpoint is famous for viewing sunrise, sunset and the beautiful views of Himalayas such as Kanchenjungha (8586 meters) and Kumbhakarna (7710 meters).




Mount Makalu


Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,481 metres (27,825 ft) and is located 19 km (12 mi) southeast of Mount Everest, on the border between Nepal and China. One of the eight-thousanders, Makalu is an isolated peak whose shape is a four-sided pyramid.
Makalu has two notable subsidiary peaks. Kangchungtse, or Makalu II (7,678 m) lies about 3 km (2 mi) north-northwest of the main summit. Rising about 5 km (3.1 mi) north-northeast of the main summit across a broad plateau, and connected to Kangchungtse by a narrow, 7,200 m saddle, is chomo longo (7,804 m).

Rara National Park

Rara National Park is a protected area in the Himalayas of Nepal and was established in 1976. Covering an area of 106 km2 (41 sq mi) in the Mugu and Dolpa districts, it is the country's smallest national park. Its main feature is Rara lake at an altitude of 2,990 metres (9,810 ft). The park was established to protect the unique flora and fauna of the Humla-Jumla Region of Nepal.

Swayambhunath Temple

Swayambhunath is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in parts of the temple in the north-west. The Tibetan name for the site means 'Sublime Trees' (Wylie:Phags.pa Shing.kun), for the many varieties of trees found on the hill. However, Shing.kun may be a corruption of the local Newari name for the complex, Singgu, meaning 'self-sprung'. For the Buddhist Newars in whose mythological history and origin myth as well as day-to-day religious practice, Swayambhunath occupies a central position, it is probably the most sacred among Buddhist Pilgrimage sites. For Tibetans and followers of Tibetan Buddhism, it second only to Boudhanath.

Pashupatinath Temple


Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most significant Hindu Temples of Lord Shiva in the world, located on the banks of the Bagmati River in the eastern part of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. The temple served as the seat of the national deity, Lord Pashupatinath, Nepal is a secular country . The temple is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site list.
The temple is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams (Holy Abodes of Shiva on the continent). Hindus alone are allowed to enter the temple premises. Non-Hindu visitors are allowed to have a look at the temple from  the other bank of Bagmati river.

Mankamana Temple


Manakamana is the name of a Hindu Goddess. It is believed that the Goddess fulfils the wishes of the people. The term ‘mana’ means the ‘heart’ or ‘soul’ and ‘kamana’ means the ‘wish’.
The most popular temple of Manakamana is in Gorkha. The others are in various places like manakamana. It is said that a King of Gorkha was blessed by the goddess to get victory over small kingdoms and make a big Gorkha. Manakamana of gorkha is a popular place for a specific fair called Panchami. The temple was initially inaccessible and one had to ride on horseback for 2–3 days. Now it is easily accessible by Cable Car.
